LiuGong has officially introduced its battery-electric heavy equipment and material-handling lineup in the United States and Canada, marking a broader push into the North American market. The move gives construction and forestry operators another route to lower-emission fleets as the company looks to build a stronger presence on this side of the market.
According to the report, LiuGong brings more than 15 years of battery-electric development experience and says more than 60,000 electric machines have already been deployed with customers around the world. Its North American launch includes several models: the 856HE battery-electric wheel loader, 820TE battery-electric loader, 924FE battery-electric excavator, and LRSE4531E fully electric 45-ton reach stacker. The company says that collection makes it one of the widest battery-electric equipment ranges offered by a single manufacturer.
Cost savings and warranty support
LiuGong says its electric machines sold in the US market can cut operating costs by 40% to 50% versus comparable diesel models. The company points to lower fuel use, reduced maintenance, and fewer replacement-part expenses as the main drivers of those savings. It also said additional benefits such as better operator retention and easier hiring may add to the business case for electrification, though those points were not quantified in the report.
The company also plans to bring more battery-powered forklifts, warehouse equipment, and material handlers to North America over the next 18 months as part of a wider commercial rollout. LiuGong says the battery packs and electric motors on its construction equipment are covered by a five-year or 10,000-operating-hour warranty. The report also highlighted a wheel loader that has logged more than 19,900 operating hours on its original battery in a corrosive phosphate mining environment, with battery life cited at 86.8%.
