SwitchBot has introduced a new version of its portable circulator fan that leans more heavily into smart-home integration and cordless use. The Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro is priced at $119.99 and replaces the adjustable stand found on the earlier model with a more compact design aimed at moving air in medium-sized rooms, on balconies, or even inside a family tent.
One of the biggest changes is native Matter-over-Wi-Fi support, which lets the fan connect to a smart home system without requiring a separate SwitchBot Hub. The fan also carries a 3,600mAh battery that SwitchBot says can deliver up to 70 hours of very quiet operation at low speed, or about four hours at maximum power. It can run even longer when connected to a USB-C power bank or a larger power station.
SwitchBot says the fan can oscillate both vertically and horizontally by 90 degrees, helping move air around a room more effectively. It also reaches a higher maximum wind speed and longer throw distance than any previous SwitchBot fan, even though its airflow volume is slightly lower than the original Battery Circulator Fan it succeeds. The blades, filter, and front and rear housing can all be removed for cleaning, and the unit includes an integrated nightlight.
For now, availability is limited to North America. A model for the UK and Europe is planned for later, and that version will include a built-in negative ion generator intended to help reduce airborne dust and static electricity.
