Constantin Koehncke, the chief executive of Image Line, says he makes a habit of checking FL Studio forums and Reddit every day as a way to stay connected with the people who use the software. The practice, he says, has become part of his morning routine and helps him keep in touch with the community around the music production app.
Koehncke leads Image Line, the company behind FL Studio, and has overseen the addition of AI-related tools such as stem separation and the Gopher chatbot. Before taking over as CEO in 2022, he led Native Instruments, where he focused on the company’s move toward digital services. He also previously worked in marketing and spent several years as a freelance music journalist.
Staying close to users
In the report, Koehncke described Reddit as the social platform he still uses most often, saying it feels like a place where people debate niche topics and share humor. He also said he keeps several work-related tabs open, including internal dashboards, product documents, analytics, the FL Studio forums, and Reddit, and that he prefers to end the day with no open tabs left behind.
When asked about the tools he relies on most, Koehncke pointed to AirPods Pro, saying they are with him throughout the day for calls, podcasts, travel, and music. He also said he is frustrated by Apple’s updated Contacts interface on iPhone, suggesting it has become less intuitive to use than before.
