GMC is using the 25th anniversary of the Hummer nameplate to unveil a limited-edition Hummer EV called the ICON | 25, a tribute model that brings back the yellow look associated with the original H2. The special package will be offered on the 2X and 3X trims of both the Hummer EV pickup and SUV, and it includes serialized badging, new infotainment graphics inspired by earlier Hummer models, a Jet Black interior, a black front approach shield, and an anniversary keepsake. GMC says the exterior color, named ICON, is a modern interpretation of the H2’s yellow finish.
The limited edition is arriving alongside a broader update for the 2027 Hummer EV lineup. Every 2027 model now comes with a native NACS inlet, giving it direct access to Tesla’s Supercharger network without an adapter. The trucks also retain bidirectional vehicle-to-home charging when paired with GM Energy’s PowerShift Charger and V2H Enablement Kit. GMC is adding five exterior colors and two new 22-inch wheel designs, while existing features such as CrabWalk, King Crab, Air Ride Adaptive suspension, Extract Mode, Super Cruise, the removable Infinity Roof, and multiple camera views remain part of the offering.
At the top of the range, the Hummer EV 3X pickup continues to advertise up to 1,160 horsepower, 13,000 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time as quick as 2.8 seconds with the optional 24-module battery pack. Production of the 2027 Hummer EV and the ICON | 25 begins later this year at GM’s Factory ZERO in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan, with sales planned for the U.S. and Canada. GMC has not announced pricing yet, though the 2026 Hummer EV starts around $99,000 and rises above $107,000 for the 3X.
The timing is notable because Hummer EV demand has weakened sharply. GMC sold 3,601 units in the first half of 2026, down 54.9% from 7,987 a year earlier, and second-quarter sales dropped 56.8% to 1,948 vehicles. According to the report, the broader EV market has cooled after the federal $7,500 tax credit expired in late 2025, and GM has since slowed production of several electric models, including the Hummer, Silverado EV, Sierra EV, and Cadillac Escalade IQ.
