General Motors has added ChargePoint to its EV app ecosystem, extending charging access inside the automaker’s myChevrolet, myGMC, and myCadillac apps. The ChargePoint network is now fully integrated into GM’s Energy Pass service, which launched only a few weeks ago.
With the update, GM EV drivers can locate, activate, and pay for charging at ChargePoint stations without leaving the app they already use. The integration covers both DC fast chargers and Level 2 chargers, removing the need to manage an additional account or download another app just for charging.
More charging options inside the same app
According to the report, ChargePoint operates nearly 80,000 public charging ports in the US, including about 75,000 Level 2 ports and more than 4,400 DC fast-charging ports, based on federal Alternative Fuels Data Center figures from early 2026. Many of the stations available through Energy Pass also support Plug & Charge, which allows the vehicle and charger to handle authentication and payment automatically once the driver plugs in.
GM says that as more of its planned charging network partnerships are added, Energy Pass should eventually provide access to around 70% of US DC fast chargers and roughly 60% of public Level 2 chargers in the country, based on current network expansion plans. For GM’s EV customers, the practical effect is a broader charging map inside the brand app they already use, with fewer steps between arriving at a station and starting a charge.
