DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4P is essentially a Pocket 4 with an extra camera built into the same compact body, and that one addition changes the equation in a meaningful way. The new 3x telephoto lens is the headline feature, giving the camera more flexibility for creators who want tighter framing without relying on digital zoom. According to the report, the second lens is not just a novelty: it delivers impressive quality and helps the 4P stand out in a small category with few direct rivals.
The trade-off is that the 4P is larger and heavier than the standard Pocket 4, and battery life is slightly reduced. The camera keeps the same flip-out screen, controls, stabilization, software, recording options, and built-in storage as the Pocket 4, so most of the difference comes from the dual-lens setup. The main camera is nearly identical, while the telephoto unit uses a slightly smaller 1/1.28-inch-type sensor paired with a faster f/1.8 aperture. It supports the same recording formats, including 4K in landscape and 3K in portrait.
Pricing also shapes the appeal. In Europe, the Standard Combo costs £529 / €599, or about $680, while the Vlog Combo rises to £605 / €689, about $785, and adds extras such as a larger case, a compact tripod, a DJI Mic Mini 2, and the FrameTap remote. DJI is not launching the Pocket 4P in the US, continuing its recent pattern of leaving that market out. The only major competing dual-lens option mentioned is Insta360’s Luna Ultra, which is available in the US, but the report says DJI undercuts it on price while at least matching its quality.
For buyers in markets where it is sold, the Pocket 4P appears to be the more capable choice for most users, especially if the telephoto lens fits their shooting style.
