Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 8 reportedly looks nearly unchanged ahead of launch

Samsung’s next clamshell foldable appears to be arriving with only modest changes, if newly leaked images and specifications are accurate. The Galaxy Z Flip 8, which is expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, is said to look very similar to the current Galaxy Z Flip 7, continuing a design approach that may make the two phones difficult to distinguish at a glance.

According to the report, Samsung is not moving the Z Flip 8 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Instead, the device is expected to use Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip, positioned as the successor to the Exynos 2500 found in the Z Flip 7. Beyond the processor change, the main hardware upgrade mentioned is support for 45W wired charging.

Small changes, familiar hardware

The leaked specifications also suggest Samsung is keeping several core components unchanged. The displays are reportedly the same as before, with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel on the inside and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED screen on the outside. Storage and memory are also said to remain at 256GB and 12GB, respectively.

Color options may offer one of the few visible differences. The leak points to a new pale pink finish, alongside cream white and graphite black. Samsung has already offered a glimpse of its upcoming foldables in a Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser, and the flip phone shown there matched the leaked design, reinforcing expectations that the company is preparing a relatively conservative update to its foldable lineup.
