Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on July 22, using the tagline “A new shape unfolds” to preview the launch. The company’s invitation also appears to hint at a different design direction for its foldable lineup.
According to the report, the teaser strengthens expectations that Samsung is preparing to introduce a third foldable phone format. That model is said to be shorter and wider than the company’s current book-style foldables, a move that would place Samsung in closer competition with other foldable devices already on the market and with Apple’s anticipated entry into the category.
In addition to the new foldable, Samsung is expected to refresh its existing Flip and Fold devices at the event. The larger model may also receive a new name, potentially becoming the Z Fold 8 Ultra, which would help distinguish it from the newer form factor.
The launch event is scheduled to take place in London, with the presentation beginning at 9 a.m. ET on July 22. The report also says new Galaxy Watch models are likely to be announced, including updates to both the standard Galaxy Watch line and the higher-end Ultra version.
