E-commerce giant Amazon recently told its corporate staff that they are expected to return full time, five days a week, starting on January 2, 2025. The decision apparently didn’t sit well with the workers, with the majority of them thinking about quitting their jobs, according to a survey conducted by Blind.

Blind, a platform where professionals can anonymously discuss their employers and corporate culture, recently polled 2,585 Amazon workers about the change in the company’s policy. 91% of surveyed individuals said that they are “dissatisfied” with the decision, while 73% are thinking about looking for a new job because of it.

Additionally, 80% of respondents said they know someone who is considering looking for a new job in the aftermath of policy change, while 32% of respondents know someone who already quit their job due to a return to office mandate.

Amazon currently has a hybrid policy, which requires corporate workers to spend three days a week in the office. However, CEO Andy Jassy made a decision back in September to mandate presence from Monday through Friday. In a memo sent to the staff, Jassy said the move was made with the goal of improving the company’s efficiency and productivity.

Disgruntled workers are now hoping Amazon’s leadership will reconsider the decision and continue with the hybrid approach after hearing the feedback.
